Tehran mayor: Motor Traffic Is People’s Foremost Concern

 

Tehran mayor announced that addition of new foreign buses, whose doors open on the left, to Tehran bus fleet would be a turning point in respecting people in metropolises.
SAMA quoted Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf as telling a ceremony marked to introduce new articulated buses that during past years the quality of buses serving Tehran citizens has not changed, but arrival of new buses will bring modern European technology to the Iranian capital city.
He added that the number of articulated buses will hit 200 in two months and noted that Tehran Municipality is trying to launch a production line for modern buses in Tehran in order to provide the capital city, and other cities if needed, with modern high-quality buses.
Ghalibaf stipulated that any step taken in the city should aim to uplift people’s quality of life and added that arrival of high-quality foreign buses can be a turning point in rendering urban services.
Tehran mayor said people deserve to use high-quality vehicles and said that according to statistics, motor traffic is the foremost concern of Tehran people.
“Therefore, we have allocated 30 percent of Tehran Municipality credits to traffic in order to solve the existing problems,” he said.
